A long time ago we argued about microtransactions versus subscription based mmos. When WoW introduced MTs, i ignored it, as it was still p2p.
Buuut.. i think it's time to say.. i told you so http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/27/ev...-to-everquest/

F2P is what happens when an mmo is a failure... also,

I'm not sure what you told me so about? I don't think that I ever disputed that MTs will be used more and more in the future... the bone I have to pick is that MTs make gameplay shitty by milking you of your money for features that should be standard. There is nothing free about free to play. Last edited by Sifo : 07-28-2010 at 02:45 AM. |

Was somewhat just bait for my lost love who I hope is still hiding out there somewhere.

Clone is correct.
And nihl, I loved me some SWG. I just dont feel it for MMOs anymore. I realize now I only ever really played to be the best and to be better than the noobs and shit. That idea just doesn't attract me anymore. With no motivation, a grind isn't actually fun, it's just really a grind. I need console style RPGs. I need to go through the whole hero cycle and know what it is i'm saving. Not just hitting 'Accept' as quickly as I can to rake in a few thousand xps. I do plan on trying swtor though, because I have faith that bioware will actually write a story beyond "this dragon has a purple weapon. kill it." Although, even then, I don't see myself going all PvP server. Being ubar has some how lost it's appeal to me during my MMO and forum trolling sabbatical

I agree with Ossot tbh, I really don't feel MMOs that much anymore. I am enjoying the EMU right now......... think it is a kind of making up for lost time thing. I also will try SWTOR, but I will never do the raid 5 days a week or even PvP for that matter again. To much time to invest in something that means nothing and could be fucked up in a day.

I will PVP, but fuck raiding on devoting mass amounts o time to a game again. Hell I maybe put in an hour a day on the EMU now (not counting my macroing).
